Elderzine is a physical magazine solely for Chinese seniors in Metro Vancouver. Since different Chinese print media shrink gradually, there is no access for seniors to get in touch with what is happening in the society. Elderzine provides information which is specially designed for seniors like estate planning, health ( fall prevention ) and humour as well. We are eager to raise their positivity through amazing life stories from volunteers who are retired.
The articles of Elderzine is provided by volunteers of Gaia Cares and there is no financial support from government. We aim to make our publication easily accessible to low-income seniors for free. The first volume of Elderzine consists of 300 copies, primarily distributed to those seniors living in SRO housing in Chinatown, with each copy costing Gaia approximately $4. Additionally, online readers can download a digital version from our website.
